Features TelepatiXApplication for immediate communication

Communicate with the people around you.

Created to help people that can’t speak and have very limited movements, like patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and those afflicted with Cerebral Palsy or sequels from a Cerebrovascular Accident (stroke). TelepatiX makes it possible to easily write and vocalize short sentences. A smart predictor completes the most common words and phrases, speeding up the communication.

How it works

The application receives an alphabet, where the user may choose the letters in two different ways:

  • Indirectly, through a sequential scan of lines and columns. To select, just touch any part of the phone or tablet screen. It is also possible to select without touching the screen, using the blinking of the eyes (through the a-blinX accessory) or other voluntary movements (other switches).
  • Touching the letters directly, in this case, the application filter the involuntary activations from people that have no fine motor control.

TelepatiX Writing by Direct Touch:

Main Functionalities
  • The application offers an alphabet, which can be scanned by a sequential scan of lines and columns. To choose the line or column that is selected by the scan, just touch any point on the screen, even with the smallest and most imprecise of movements.

  • The selection can be made without touching the screen, using external accessories, such as the blinking detector a-blinX.

  • The user himself can easily choose the scan. He just needs to touch four times in a row on the screen, with any delay he wishes. If he is using an activator like a-blinX, for example, he just needs to blink four times, in whatever rhythm is more comfortable for him.
  • To speed up the writing, TelepatiX keeps trying to “guess” the words with every letter chosen.

  • The application learns the user’s most frequent vocabulary as well, e completes his most used sentences.

  • After writing, the person can tell the application to vocalize the sentence loud and clear.

  • TelepatiX provides, as well, another mode of writing, where non-speaking people with uncoordinated hand movements may type touching the letters directly: the application filters the involuntary touches and writes each letter only after the person holds it for a time that he himself chooses.
